DAY 25: Don't try to encourage me...
Yeah, so I kinda fell off the wagon...
I took a week off because... well, because I am a woman - and wasn't feeling well one week. Let's just leave it at that, and expect that to happen in 4 more weeks. :)
But the problem was that it took a lot for me to jump back in. No jumping here - it was more like a snail's pace. And I DIDN'T WANT TO BE ENCOURAGED. Even though, I had lost a tiny bit of weight - I probably gained it all back. Yep I still HATE exercising!!!
I have been busy planning a 6 year old birthday party. It's not until mid December - but I have been known to stay up late last minute making everything cutsie for the parties so I have been staying up late, lately instead hoping to have everything done by the party - and be well-rested as a bonus. I guess we will see. So I have made 36 hello kitty headbands, and changed 24 little gift boxes into hello kitty, and put them together. Got a great deal (6 for 29 cents) - just had to modify them a little, oh - and invitations... had to send all those out too. Busy busy... and with Christmas coming up - and Thanksgiving - and my favorite BLACK FRIDAY!! Checking out all the deals! :)
SO I may or may not have been purposely doing all of these things to keep me "too" busy to exercise. Yep - even after a 2 week break - I still hate it.
But ALAS, Here I am once again , and I have Exercised - BEFORE midnight... Go ME!!!
I did the Tummy Tuck Video tonight for 3 reasons.
1- On this break, my tummy has become squishy again, and I remember the first time I did this video how much it hurt... and that is a good thing. Never have I done an ab workout that I can feel so much!
2- I haven't done this one in a while. In the program for the first month - it only did each exercise segment about 2 times/week. And this one is really good for my body type. I think maybe it would be a good idea to switch to this one every other day, and I can probably get used to it, and actually notice a difference. My squishy tummy is the reason I started this in the first place.
3- This segment is only 20 minutes! Quick & Easy - okay not Easy, but quick none the less - which made it do-able before midnight.
Here are the headbands and gift boxes - to show I really was "busy" :)

DAYS 23 & 24: I don't feel like it
I didn't feel like exercising yesterday... so I didn't.
It was a long day & I had to "whip up" a poodle skirt for my daughter who is having a 50's day at school tomorrow. "Whipping up" was 1 hour going to the store & back, and at least another hour making/sewing it - no pattern, mind you.
The house looked pretty disastrous when I was done... dishes spilling over, fabric all over the place - sewing machine out, stuff all over the place. The complete opposite of the day before... I was falling asleep sitting up, when I finally got up & went to bed. I BARELY had enough energy to make lunches...
It's REALLY hard to get back into exercising, after you take a break (intended or not), and is very daunting -- dreading a 50-60 (or more) minute exercise session. I STILL don't like exercising. I thought maybe if I broke it down into four 15 minute segments, it would be easier - but I think it would just be more of a hassle.
So, here is how it works: The 50-60(ish) minute sessions are usually broken up into 2 routines/sets. There are 5 that I do. Bum Bum (35 min) - Tummy Tuck (20 min) - Cardio Axe (30 min) - High & Tight (35 min) - Sculpt (50 min). For my body type, it's kind of a mix and match. It says Variety is the key to long term success.
I HATE the Sculpt video. It basically works out your arms & back which are the two areas I do NOT have issues with -- until I do the Sculpt session. It's too long and makes my body hurt in a bad way. So I think these next 4 1/2 weeks are going to be exercising 1 session each day (with the 4 remaining exercises). 20-35 min is WAY more doable, and not so daunting. As long as I am doing a variety, I think I'll be okay.
Today, I did Cardio Axe (30 min) - NO BIG DEAL! And what a relief when I was done.
The next few Days will be:
Bum Bum
Tummy Tuck
High & Tight
and we'll see how that goes.
I think after this whole Brazilian Buttlift thing, I'll adopt this "Lazy Girl's Workout". Obviously she's lazy... she doesn't even spell LAZY right. :)
DAY 22: Git R done...
In my book, a Productive Day is a good day...
Today I got A LOT done, and I think the only time I actually sat (besides squatting with my workout) was when I ate. I'll admit, I had a little Reese's PBC and a mini almond joy. And a lot of beans with my food (biggest loser chili recipe & "do it on a dime" budget burritos). I LOVE that YouTube channel. I have a heart for organizing, and this girl is awesome - and to top it off - she JUST had a baby!! Check it out on YouTube (Doitonadime).
So today was a busy day to say the least... I got up, got ready, got kids ready, made kids breakfast, took the kids to school, ate breakfast, unloaded dishwasher, wrote/rewrote/edited final version of ministry update-newsletter, picked up daughter, worked on her homework, ate lunch, picked up son from school, made snack & dinner for kids, helped son with homework all the while folding at least 3 loads worth of laundry & putting it all away, and then washing/
drying/ folding/ putting away 3 more loads, reloaded dishwasher (which was A LOT today for some reason), cleaned my room, cleaned living room & kitchen, designed my daughter's birthday invitation, went to the grocery store with kids, AND went 10 minutes away & back to rescue my sister in law who locked herself out of her house accidentally. Luckily, she lives pretty close!! And during all of this, dishes kept comin' in... By the time I got done , I had just enough time to watch Dancing With The Stars... Not usually a big fan - but this a pretty good season, and i like that it's all done in one night. Then it was midnight - and I knew that something was better than nothing. I lasted 20 min... and I was pooped.
DAYS 19, 20 & 21 - FAIL
So the last 3 days were pretty much a fail. The kids had Friday (the day after Halloween) off of school. So, essentially, we had a 3 day weekend. Weekends are always hard!! Every one of those days, I planned on doing a work out -- and every one of those days I didn't. Friday was not a pleasant day... for our family - and let's just leave it at that... Not a day I ever want to relive! As for Saturday, my husband had to run his parents to the airport in the early morning, so I was on kid duty. Luckily, he took the kids to get donuts after he got back, and I got to sleep-in for a while. Then I awoke to the glorious sound of: I got you a donut!! Boy was that Fried ball of sugar DELICIOUS!!! Then I weighed myself & I had lost 3 lbs from the last time I weighed. :) remind me to eat another one of THOSE donuts!!!
Sunday was more relaxing, but later we had to go babysit my niece & nephew, for the better part of the Afternoon & evening. So that was that. I did actually take the DVDs to their house intending to work out. But both TVs were taken. My eating again has been half & half... Instead of regular meals, I have just kind of been eating when I was hungry. I do eat healthy, but then have things like a donut, or candy -- or Rice Krispy Treat! For the love of Pete -- have some self control!! I don't know what the deal is with weekends - I just can't seem to get it together!!
I saw this recently and thought it was really funny... and kind of appropriate too:

DAY 18: On the go...
So, today is Halloween, and I knew I'd overdo it on treats, and honestly wasn't planning on exercising today. I ate 3 "mummy dogs" (hot dogs wrapped in croissants & SO cute by the way!), and a Rice Krispy Treat, along with a few Junior Mints. Plus, we haven't even gone trick-or treating, yet. We are going to a neighborhood we used to live in, and are leaving right after school --
which doesn't give me much extra time.
I didn't exercise to the video today.
BBL has something called: Triangle Training Workout - Leandro's Signature Moves for an On- The - Go Workout. It's a series of cards from 1-10, with special exercises on them. So you can take them if you are going some place where there is no TV/DVD player. So you can still exercise. I don't know if you are supposed to all of them or a select few, but I chose 3 of them. And REALLY felt like I was working those areas. Since I HATE the sculpt video so much, maybe I will just do these cards once in a while instead of sculpt. Is that cheating? Maybe. Am I still exercising? Yes. Isn't that the point? Yes.
Trick or Treat!!
DAY 17: ... so many titles
There are so many possible titles to this post, not sure what to call it. You decide:
I mean come on - how cute are these?
Yeah, so what are a few nibbles here or there... or 3 WHOLE bars? Oops... but they sure were good.
Water - it does a body good.
So, I'm not a big water drinker... I never have been. Ever since Jr. High, I can remember getting a soda everyday with lunch. I love me some soda. Over 12 years ago, I had a health scare that I attributed to caffeine - so I had to give it up cold turkey. I can have little bit at a time, but not everyday - definitely not Coke or coffee (maybe that's why I am always so exhausted)! Anyhow, I DO like non-caffinated soda. Especially SQUIRT!! My absolute favorite! When I drink anything, that is my beverage of choice, and we are usually well stocked. But since I've been doing this workout - water sounds so good! And my mouth gets so dry - only water will quench my thirst. I am actually drinking water! It really does a body good.
The McRib is BACK!!!
Yeah, so today I made myself some healthy meals that I got off of the Biggest Loser website. They look really good, and taste even better! Taco Salad & Deviled Eggs with Hummus.
Then, while we were out at a Halloween event, we had to make an impromptu trip to McDonalds for my daughter who was acting very grumpy and obviously needed to eat, like now. THAT is when I saw it: (insert angelic "ahhhh"here) THE MCRIB!!! Ever since they started periodically serving the McRib, my family (growing up) has felt a deep fondness toward the McRib. So - even though the 500 calories were clearly displayed, I ordered one. I have to say - that was 500 REALLY YUMMY calories! Oops again!
Oh FINE!!! (all about being consistent)
I was so tired, and had kind of a long day, and have a super long day tomorrow. So after I was done making lunches and pretty much being "done" for the night. It was way after midnight, and I was even starting to get nauseous from being so tired (or was it from the hummus eggs?). I told my husband I was going to forgo the exercising tonight, but I needed him to tell me that was okay - just so I didn't feel like I a flake. And he said "NO. I think you SHOULD exercise." (GASP!) The NERVE!!! Just kidding. He said, "I think you should do it, but not the whole thing. At least do some of it - it's all about consistency. A little bit every day is better than a lot every once in a while. You always feel better about yourself when you live up to your highest ideals. Being able to say you've exercised for 50 days in a row means something." That's true. He is right - I always feel better about myself when I put in the effort - even when it's not all the way!
Was that a Fart?
So, I DID my workout. I did the sculpt video for 30 min (instead of the full 55 min) I hate that video. I always do it without the weights just in case. But it still bugs my back & shoulders. Also, I've never noticed this before & maybe our DVD player is just dirty, but I swear every once in a while I can hear somebody fart in the video! My husband heard it too. It happened 4 times. It's a long, high-pitched kind of like a squeal. Weird. (Thomas Orona, were you hiding in our house somewhere?)
So that's it for today! Happy Halloween! I think I will not be exercising tomorrow. We'll see!
- Candy, Cookies & Rice Krispy Treats - Oh MY!
- Water - it does a body good.
- The McRib is BACK!!!

Candy, Cookies & Rice Krispy Treats - Oh MY!
Yes, We have all 3 of these in our house. I was able to say no to the first 2, but I had to make 30 Rice Krispy Treats for my daughter's class for her halloween party tomorrow.I mean come on - how cute are these?
Yeah, so what are a few nibbles here or there... or 3 WHOLE bars? Oops... but they sure were good.

DAY 16: Obrigado pelos crepes!
Today, I actually did my work out before midnight. I did Cardio for 30 min & Bum Bum (butt) for 35 min. I did the whole thing... And was done by a little after 6pm. Yay! That means I get to watch the "Biggest Loser" tonight when it's actually on, instead of recording it to watch later after my workout (as my treat).

When I said I did my whole work out, it wasn't all at once. I barely have enough stamina for 1 set, not to mention 2. So I did Cardio first, then ate some crepes my hubby made from scratch. I had 3! I had 1 with cream cheese & strawberry jam (it was so good it made my cheeks tingle). Then I had 1 with butter & cinnamon sugar. Then I had 1 with bananas, Nutella & mini marshmallows. Mmmmm! They were SO good!! I just HAD to partake! "Thanks for the Crepes".
Then I worked off those calories (let's hope) by doing the Bum Bum workout. I really worked up a sweat with that one. It was hard, but I think my butt is getting used to that one. It doesn't seem to hurt as much afterward like the first time... I guess we will find out tomorrow.
I am really beginning to like the word: Obrigado. Obrigado means "thank you" in Portuguese (the language they speak in Brazil). When ever I hear Obrigado, I know the set is done - and it makes me happy.
So I thought an appropriate title for my post would be: Obrigado pelos crepes! (Thank you for the crepes!)
